Project "Inclusion of Civil Society Organizations in Energy and Climate Policy Making at Local Level"

Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID) has signed project implementation contract with European Union, represented by European Commission, on July 28, 2011.

In partnership with Municipality of Vrbas, Municipality of Kula and Centre for Ecology and Sustainable Development (CEKOR) from Subotica, CeSID will work on reduction of carbon intensity especially in mentioned municipalities. In cooperation with CSOs and local authorities we will promote EU standards in energy and climate policy making.

Expected results:

  • Sustainable Energy Actions Plans (SEAP) prepared for Vrbas and Kula;
  • Programming Framework of Regional Development Agencies tackles climate and energy preservation;
  • CSOs trained to participate in energy and climate policy making.

Particular attention will be paid on establishing monitoring of climate and energy policy making at local level in Serbia and development of tools for effective monitoring and evidence based policy making.

Some of the activities include:

  • Preparation and conduction of household hitting and transport survey;
  • Development of tailored training curricula for major CSO groups;
  • Preparation of the guide for public participation in energy and climate policies making.

Project implementation period will be 12 month.
